Objectives: We will compare the observations made during the in-situ experiment (Task 2) to those recorded around crustal-scale faults. The aim of this approach is to evaluate to what extent physical processes highlighted by the Task 2 and 3 can be useful to explain large-scale observations. More precisely, we will: (1) compare the microseismicity and the temporal variation of seismic velocity due to large earthquakes with the measurements performed during the in-situ experiment; (2) by using borehole measurements in large-scale fault systems, we will evaluate how the fault hydromechanical properties and fluid pressure variations are affected by deep deformation; (3) finally, large-scale numerical experiments will be conducted to reproduce seismic velocity change and fluid pressure anomalies induced by fault deformation.
